KENYA CAMPING SAFARI TOUR WITH MOMBASA EXTENSION
Maasai mara –Naivasha- Nakuru-Baringo-Samburu-
Mt. Kenya-Amboseli- Tsavo East-Nairobi or Mombasa
Day 1: Nairobi/Maasai
Mara
This reserve is Kenya’s most popular game
sanctuary, most famous and visited game reserve in Kenya. The park adjoins
the Serengeti park of Tanzania. A land of undulating hills and rolling
grasslands supports a huge animal population. During the months of July to
September, millions of wildebeests and zebras migration overflow into the
Mara from the Serengeti national park in Tanzania. The black manned lion
dominated the Mara, cheetahs, elephants, cape buffaloes, giraffe, gazelle,
antelope and many other plains game are to be found here.
Accommodation: Game lodges, Luxury tented camps, public and privately owned
campsite. Leave Nairobi for Maasai Mara Game Reserve,
picnic lunch en route. On arrivalproceed to
the campsite/lodge.After a short rest
proceed for agame drive in search of
Blackmanned lions, Elephants,Leopards,
Cheetah, Buffalos and other plain's game.
Return to the camp/lodge for dinner and
overnight.
Day 2: Maasai
Mara After breakfast, proceed for early morning
game drive. Return to camp/lodge for lunch.
1600hrs. After a further game drive. Dinner
and overnight at the camp/lodge. whole day
game viewing carry with you a packed lunch.
Day 3: Maasai
Mara Full day game viewing in the mara an option
of nature walks or visits to a nearby Maasai
village in between the meal breaks. Dinner
and overnight at the camp/lodge. (maasai
village visits available at extra cost). The
optional activities require prior
arrangements with the drive (guides as

Day 4: Maasai
Mara / Naivasha
A very picturesque fresh water lake. There is
good fishing, boat trips or a visit to the crescent island. Nearby is the
dramatic hells gate gorge reserve over shadowed by the mysterious Longonot.
Hells gate is ideal for nature walks of between 1 to 5 hours, amongst the
wildlife.
Accommodation: Lodges & privately owned campsites After breakfast, leave Lake Naivasha. After
lunch, visit Hells Gate National Park and
the gesthermal power station. Proceed to
fisherman's p/lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 5:
lake Naivasha/ lake Nakuru
This lake offers one of the world's most
spectacular wildlife sights, that of brilliant pink flamingos as far as the
eye can see. When conditions are right, between one and two million lesser
and greater flamingos feed around the shores of the shallow soda lake,
together with tens of thousands of other birds. The best place to view the
birds is from Baboon Cliff, where you can look out over the dazzling fringe
of pink around the lake's shores. But be warned: you are not guaranteed to
see this ornithological extravaganza - there are times when the lake
conditions change and the birds move on to other soda lakes. So check first
before renting a car. Lake Nakuru was declared a national park in 1961 and
it now covers an area of some 200 kmē. Here you will also see warthog,
waterbuck and large numbers of impala. Other slightly shyer residents
include buffalo, Rothschild giraffe, eland, lion, leopard and black rhino.
It goes without saying that this is a bird watchers paradise. Leave after breakfast and drive to the home
of millions of flamingoes and the home of
the white and black rhino and about 350
different species of birds. It is also known
as Ornithological Paradise. Dinner and overnight at a budget
hotel/lodge.
Day 6:
lake nakuru /bogoria
Lying between Baringo and Nakuru, is this soda
lake a favorite nesting site for the flamingos and where hot sulfur springs
abounds. There is also a small herd of greater kudu.
Accommodation: Lodge & public campsite After breakfast drive to Bogoria where the
hot water spring abound and plenty of
medical springs. After lunch, visit Lake
Baringo. A boat trip to see various species
of birds and very ancient caves. (The boat
ride is only one hour). If you require
hours, one pays direct. Dinner and overnight
at a budget hotel/lodge.
Day 7: Samburu
The highlight of this Reserve is the
spectacular scenic beauty, rivers and forest. The local people have very
rich and colorful cultural heritage. Wildlife includes, leopards, hippos,
elephants, lions, reticulated giraffes, grevy’s zebras, bongos and
crocodiles in the Uaso Nyiro River.
Accommodations: Several Game Lodges & a public campsite located inside the
park.
After breakfast, leave for Samburu via
Thompson falls. Lunch enroute arrive late
afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the
campsite/lodge.
Day 8: Samburu After breakfast, depart for an early morning
game drive. Return to the camp/lodge for
lunch. 1600hrs. another game drive. Dinner
and overnight at the campsite/lodge.
Day 9: Samburu/Mount.
Kenya
These parks and game reserves are part of the
most fascinating sanctuaries in terms of scenic splendors and the great
variety of wildlife. Mount Kenya N. Park lies at an altitude of
approximately 3,400m – 5,200m. It offers mountain attractions and flora &
fauna found at different altitudes. The wildlife includes colobus monkeys,
bushbucks, elephants, olive baboon, waterbucks, leopards, giant forest hogs,
genet cats, hyena and the elusive bongo. After breakfast, leave Samburu for Mt. Kenya
(Nanyuki) arriving in time for lunch. After
lunch, visit the Mau Mau Caves (where Kenyan
Freedom Fighters could hide from the British
Troops during the struggle for
independence). Dinner and overnight at the
campsite/lodge.
Day 10: Mt.
Kenya/Amboseli via Nairobi After breakfast, drive fast the biggest
open-air market in East and Central Africa (Karatina).
Proceed to Nairobi arriving in time for
lunch in one of the restaurants. Continue to
Amboseli via Kenya/Tanzania border (Namanga) arriving in
Amboseli late afternoon. An evening viewing
drive. Dinner and overnight at the
campsite/lodge.
Day 11:
Amboseli
This national park covers 1260sq kilometers and
lies on the border of Kenya and Tanzania. A real gem of the park situated
right at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain Kilimanjaro 5895m. Elephants
abounds in the forest and swamps feeding on the lush grasses. Cheetah,
giraffes, impalas, leopards, zebras, wonder on the open plains. It is
definitely photography’s paradise!
Accommodation: Luxury lodges & tented camp, public campsite Early morning game drive before breakfast.
After breakfast have a whole day game
viewing. Optional: Maasai village visit ! Natural walk ! Swimming in one of the lodges (All at extra cost). Return to
campsite/lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 12:
Amboseli / Tsavo West
Tsavo National Park [over 20,000 sq.
km] is the largest game sanctuary in the world comprising of Tsavo East,
Tsavo West, Chyulu Hills & the world’s largest lava flow. It is located half
way between Mombasa and Nairobi. The outstanding features are the huge
populations of red elephants, which derive their red colorings from the rich
red earth of the park. Other wildlife to be seen includes, buffaloes,
rhinos, lions, hippos, leopards, crocodiles, kudus, gerenuks, zebras and
many more plains game. The park has over [500] species of birds].
In Tsavo west are the Mzima springs where hippos and crocodiles can be
viewed from the underwater hides. Further south adjoining the park is the
Taita hills sanctuary.
Accommodations: Game lodges & public camp sites, self-catering bandas. After breakfast drive via Chyulu Hills to
Tsavo West National Park arriving in time
for lunch. Afternoon game viewing drive and
a visit to Mzima Springs (the source of
drinking water for Mombasa). Return for dinner and overnight at the

Day 13: Tsavo
West/Tsavo East
After
breakfast, drive to Tsavo East which is
renowned for its large numbers of elephants
and the famous Man eating Lions (during the
building of the Kenya/Uganda Railway in
1890). Lunch on arrival. Game drive Dinner
and overnight at the campsite/lodge.
Day 14: Mombasa
Leave Tsavo East to Mombasa
